It’s no secret why the Spinnaker was featured on the Fine Living Channel’s Around the World in 80 Homes. From its nautical-inspired architecture to its waterfront location, this Chincoteague vacation rental provides the perfect setting for your family vacation, honeymoon, or romantic getaway.
Of course, one of the best features of the Spinnaker is its waterfront location. The back of the home overlooks Oyster Bay, and your kids will love swimming and crabbing off the private dock. There are also two decks, both of which offer clear views of the water. The lower deck is especially well-equipped, with built-in seating and tables, as well as a barbecue. The yard is spacious and quiet—you’ll feel miles away from the hustle of your daily life.
Inside, you’ll find architecture reminiscent of a ship. The dining room was designed to resemble a wheelhouse, with a large window that looks out over the water, and the spacious living room features an authentic porthole. The kitchen is set up like a galley, but is fully equipped with everything you need to prepare gourmet meals at home. Even the charming guest bedrooms are nautical-themed—two of them were designed like staterooms on a ship. In addition to all this, the master bedroom boasts an in-suite bathroom with a jacuzzi tub and a double shower, as well as a private balcony with bay views. We also recently refinished the hardwood floors and added two new bathrooms, bringing the total to one per bedroom.
In terms of location, the Spinnaker couldn’t be better situated. Chincoteague Island is located in Virginia on the Delmarva Peninsula, just below Ocean City, Maryland. Within fifteen minutes of the Spinnaker, there is plenty to do and see. You can easily drive to Assateague Island, which boasts miles of unspoiled natural beach, free-roaming wild ponies, and the Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge and Visitor’s C
