This is the largest and most elegant vacation rental home in Edgartown.
The Captain Morse house is close to Edgartown’s shopping, dining, golf, fishing beaches and harbor. The home features 26 rooms with 11 bedrooms, 7 baths, 2 kitchens and 2 dining rooms. The large front porches facing the Edgartown Harbor are an ideal place to spend the day. The over-sized back yard and garden can host weddings and events.
The Captain Morse House, at the corner of Morse and North Water streets, is one of Edgartown’s finest homes. This exquisitely detailed home is perfect for your Martha’s Vineyard dream vacation.
The home is on three floors and has a formal living room and dining room, two family/game rooms and even two gourmet kitchens. All of it is tastefully decorated with period furnishings and artwork. The home has central air-conditioning, heat and modern appliances.
Outside on the North Water street side facing the water are two spacious porches with partial water views of Edgartown Harbor. There is a large dock at the end of Morse Street on which you can walk. Our backyard is one of the most spacious and safe in town and features a bricked patio with seating for ten with a barbecue, croquet and an outdoor shower. There is off street parking for three to four cars. Current accommodations are for up to 23 people in 18 beds.
We are committed to doing whatever we can to make your stay in our family home on Martha’s Vineyard a special one. We think that our house is the best in town and offers any visitor a truly unique and authentic island experience. Judging from our sellouts during our first two years on the market our guests agree.

Reservations, Rates and Booking Information
To book the Captain Morse House send an email to us with your full legal name (no initials) , legal home address and cell phone number.
You can book your Reservations up to 331 days in advance. This is to give current tenants the option to re-book their current week. Booking requests further in advance of 331 days can be held as a first right of refusal for a small deposit.
Rates above are based on an occupancy of 14. For greater occupancy a surcharge will apply. Contact me for a detailed quote.
The typical stay is one week. Long weekends in the early spring and late fall are around 2/3 of the weekly rate.
Wedding parties in spring and fall will often take the property from Wednesday until Tuesday the following week. Send us your special request – Contact us
The security deposit is $3,000. Special events and wedding parties are subject to a higher deposit, typically $5,000.
There is an estimated cleaning fee of $700 added to each full rental. This includes your use of our linens and all the beds remade.
Normally check in is at 3 pm and check out is at 10 am on a Sunday. Special times can be accommodated with advance notice otherwise please observe these.
